My Story

It all started over sixty years ago. I was just a young teenager when my Grandfather began teaching me the craft of furniture repair and restoration. Woodworking and antique restoration has been a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation. My Great Grandfather owned a Saw Mill in Germany during the late 19th Century, which is where my Grandfather had learned the trade. I spent countless hours with my Grandfather in his workshop, repairing furniture for family and friends - I learned all you'd ever want to possibly know about sandpaper, chisels, steel wool, various hand tools and every different type of wood and paint you'd ever imagine.

For the last sixty years I have been honing my craft, perfecting it and sharing it with family, friends and clients. My Grandfather and his father would be proud to see that I am still applying the skills and techniques that they used to present day projects.

Up until 15 years ago, furniture and heirloom restoration was mostly a hobby, done in the evenings and weekends. I was a Building Engineer and Head of Facilities for a large paper company in New Jersey, in which I retired from. For the last 30 years, I have also been sharing my skills and experience with the next generation by teaching hands-on courses at Bergen Technical School in Hackensack.

Now, my time is dedicated to my family and my furniture and heirloom restoration business. I wake up every morning and just can't wait to get to work on the next project in my workshop. I take great pride in what I do and my goal is to please every single customer that entrusts me with their treasured table, chair, or heirloom.

My workshop in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Over the last sixty years, I accumulated every tool of the trade (there are many that are not featured here). It may smell of sawdust and lacquer, but that's what gives it character, right?
