Antique and Collectibles Restoration

Do you have something of sentimental value, that really means the world to you? Maybe it's that old wooden sled that was your Great Grandmother's from when she was a child. Or the model ships that your Grandfather used to love making, but are broken and collecting dust. Bringing antiques and heirlooms back to life is what I do best. No challenge is too large - I've restored tiger and bear heads, intricate model ships, gumball machines and other antique oddities. A sampling of what I have restored can be seen below.

Tiger Head - Restoration of Mouth and Teeth

I was 14 years old and one day while I was riding my bicycle in downtown Hackensack, I found this in the trash on the curb. It was missing some teeth and a part of its tongue. I brought it back home and was so enamored by it that I just had to restore it back to its original likeness. Utilizing wax, plaster of paris and paints for the restoration.

Antique Model Ship - Rebuilt and Restored

A client delivered the model ship that you see below - after one too many trips across the seven seas it needed a lot of work. It was built by the client's grandfather years ago and he wanted to bring it back to life and display it in his home. I refinished the antique model ship and delivered to a very happy client.

Swordfish - Restoration

I've done several swordfish restorations over the years - this fish was missing the actual sword as well as several of the fins. I constructed a sword and fins, and added them to the swordfish. I then repainted the entire fish, blending the added pieces with the original.

Bear - Restoration of Mouth, Teeth and Fur

This scary bear received a full makeover from me when it found its way into my workshop. The bear head had significant damage to the mouth area and also to the fur on the sides and back of its head. I was able to reconstruct the mouth, creating teeth for the bear and repainting it. In addition, I restored the fur so it had a more uniform appearance throughout. The bear head is currently used by local Girl Scout Leaders for Bear Safety demonstrations.
